If you know anything about static electtricity, you'd know that it is a
build up of static energy. if we don't discharge the static properly you
can potentially ruin the computer. Haveing a static wrist gurad properly
grounds you & will prevent the buildup of potentially harmful static
levels. Now, you can buy one of these wrist bands, but as soon as you touch ur computer case,, you will discharge all the static built up with or without the static strap. That is right, our cases are grounded. so as long as you periodically touch the frame of the case, you will never have an issue. The wrist band has a little clip that attatches to the frame of the computer continuously releases static. But if you touch the frame of the case periodically, which you will do naturally you will NEVER have a problem. Hope this helps

you never know.
Yes, do so at all times. The reason is that many components are
sensitive to static discharge. By using a wrist band that is correctly
earthed, you discharge any static build up to ground. Never ground the
printed circuit board (PCB) as this will create an earth-loop. It is wise
to always spray (with water) the carpet with a fine mist. This will
discharge any static to ground too. Don't go crazy with the water, just a
little, using one of those window clean type bottles will do the trick. Better safe than sorry, eh. Kind regards.. Dr Antony
